What is Restylane?

Restylane® is a safe and effective cosmetic filler that provides instant, long-lasting facial restoration. This revolutionary product uses hyaluronic acid, which is found naturally in your skin and all tissue types. It works by creating natural volume under wrinkles and folds, as well as under recessed scars. Restylane is FDA approved and is used for non-surgical cosmetic procedures, such as:

Unfortunately, lines and wrinkles are something we cannot avoid. Sun exposure and the natural aging process cause everyone to get them eventually. Smiling, laughing, and frowning also cause fine lines to appear. With Restylane, it is now possible to turn back the clock and retain your youthful look, without going under the knife!
As we age our skin loses its firmness and becomes thinner, resulting in decreased elasticity and volume. These changes in our skin's soft tissue are what cause our facial features to change. Restylane's anti-aging capability is the key to reversing these changes and retaining a youthful appearance. By literally replacing the skin's lost volume, Restylane not only reduces the signs of aging but also enhances facial symmetry and adds definition to certain facial features.

The clear gel comes in different particle sizes and is injected into the skin in tiny amounts to smooth wrinkles and folds and create natural volume. Depending on the scope of treatment, your aesthetic physician will determine what is right for you. This is known as the Restylane Tissue-Tailored Concept™ - your facial rejuvenation is custom designed to meet you and your skin's specific needs.

Restylane can be used to target wrinkles on virtually any area of the face. Smile lines can be smoothed to produce a more youthful look, and forehead wrinkles and frown lines can be gone in a matter of minutes. One of the first noticeable signs of aging is the change in appearance of our tear troughs. Found between the lower eyelid and upper cheek, this area becomes hollow and depressed as we get older. When utilized in this area, Restylane is able to erase that perpetually “tired” look. There is no scarring, and the amazing results last about 6-12 months. After your initial treatment, you and your doctor will discuss and decide on a time line for follow-up treatments.
In addition, Restylane can be used with BOTOX. For those with deeper wrinkles, this combination can increase both the longevity and effectiveness of your treatment. To find out if you might benefit from our 'BOTOX-Filler Facelift,' call us today to schedule a complimentary consultation.

Lip Augmentation

Many of us would like to have plump and fuller lips, without having to resort to surgery. Restylane offers the perfect solution for thin, aged, or wrinkled lips. In just 15-30 minutes, you can have the luscious smile you always wanted. After the area is anesthetized, Restylane is painlessly injected into the underside of both lips, as well as along the lip line. By targeting both areas your aesthetic physician can not only augment your lips, but soften any small lines around the lips. Your doctor will then massage the injection sites to ensure the Restylane is evenly dispersed throughout your lips and mouth. This will give you a youthful and rested appearance, without making your lips look unnaturally puffy. The results speak for themselves, and typically last about 6 months.

Acne Scar Treatment

Over 20 million Americans have acne that is bad enough to cause scars. These scars can range from shallow ice-pick scars to deep-pitted pockmarks. Earlier we talked about how the skin loses its volume as we get older; for those who have acne scars, this often means their scars become more pronounced with age.

Restylane is able to correct these acne scars, and the concept is similar to wrinkle removal. The gel is injected into each individual scar, raising it to match the surface level of the surrounding skin. Increasing the volume under the scars produces immediate results - the skin is smooth and even, and the scars barely noticeable. Those with severe acne scarring may require multiple sessions to completely fill all the scars. Once the scars are repaired, most patients maintain these results by returning every 6-12 months for follow-up sessions.
